American Girl Doll Camp
July 27 at 9:00 am - July 31 at 12:00 pm
Be Imaginative. Be Bold. Be Playful like American Girl Doll Samantha Parkington. The Moss Mansion’s American Girl Doll Camp is stepping back in time with inspiration from Samantha, a compassionate and independent girl from 1904. Campers will venture outside their comfort zones, just like Samantha, to learn new things like how to paint, what it means to be a leader and even how to be a good public speaker. They will also flex their creative skills by making Victorian-era-inspired accessories for their dolls and even spend some time dancing in the gardens. The week culminates with a behind-the-scenes tour of the mansion. Pack up your girls and their favorite dolls – we’re ready to make new friends and memories this summer!
Monday: Introductions, name plates, t-shirt decorating
Tuesday: Public speaking workshop, leadership activity, communication project
Wednesday: Painting activity; dance class in the gardens
Thursday: Community service workshop, crafts – 1900’s fashion and empowerment
Friday: Tour of the Mansion, scavenger hunt
All materials will be provided. Participants must be able to climb stairs, follow instruction, and work independently. Some activities will be outside and some will be in rooms without air conditioning – please be sure to dress appropriately and to describe any sensitivities, allergies, and other considerations in the attached registration material.
