The Billings Preservation Society provides leadership to inspire ongoing universal appreciation of the value and importance of historic and cultural preservation.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Billings Preservation Society, symbolized by the Moss Mansion, is to inspire, to educate, and to facilitate historic and cultural preservation activities for our community and for its future generations.
The Billings Preservation Society is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization which administers, operates, maintains, and is restoring the Moss Mansion Historic House Museum. The Moss Mansion is owned by the City of Billings and the State of Montana.
The long-term goal for the Moss Mansion Museum is to restore the building, grounds and furnishings to their original condition for the education and enjoyment of the public and for future generations. The building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Billings Preservation Society is a member of the American Association of Museums, the American Association of State and Local History, the Museum Association of Montana, and the Mountain Plains Museum Association.
